Heaven Is A Place On Earth

By Boon Sun

On Sunday PAW organized a trip to Noah’s Ark in Johor. It was my first time going there. Having heard so much about it from my friends and aunt, I was really excited about the trip across the causeway and visiting the wonderful animal sanctuary. My aunt had told me about the huge number of animals in the shelter, as well as the fun and joy she had during her visit earlier this year. Being an animal lover, I was looking forward to it. It rained just before we reached the animal shelter, and it was very kampong-like, reminiscent of my grandmother’s place. We waited at the side gate before one of the Noah’s ark volunteers welcomed us and showed us around. It was the first time I saw so many animals roaming around freely!

At Noah’s Ark, the animals enjoy freedom and care from the volunteers. It was very heart-warming to see this. The animals are well taken care of, with shelter over their heads. There is no euthanasia, only unconditional love till their natural death.

Like Noah, Raymond, founder of Noah’s Ark, built an ark – a special home where abandoned and abused animals were given a second chance and cared for. Noah’s Ark is, perhaps, the closest to heaven these animals will ever be. This unique animal sanctuary gives broken animals a home and I truly respect the efforts and sacrifices the volunteers have made. This visit has made me want to do more for the animals and so, I am looking forward to PAW’s next CIP trip – where we will be building shelters for Noah’s Ark. Will you help us make heaven a place on earth for these precious animals too?

PAW's Halloween
PAW-Halloween-Small.jpg in a secluded cafe, an eerie halloween party was unfolding. but just as you dismissed it as another pumpkin and skulls halloween bash, you notice the incredible retro-ness of the people inside. curious, you step in, and...

PAW held our inaugural halloween party last Thursday at Happy Daze Cafe in Serangoon Gardens. Shortly after nightfall, party-goers in retro-licious apparel started to fill the cafe, together with two adorable shih-tzus and a manly retriever. As old halloween flicks played in the background, the crowd wolfed down their eeky eyeball soups and bloody lamb shanks together with endless mugs of beers.
